Let Gaza Live: Fredericton Stands with Gaza

When: Saturday, August 2 at 1:00pm
Where: Fredericton City Hall, corner of Queen and York

Fredericton Palestine Solidarity & Jews for a Just Peace Fredericton invite all to rally in solidarity with Gaza on Saturday, August 2 at 1:00pm at Fredericton City Hall to condemn Israel’s most recent assault on Gaza that has killed over 1,085 Palestinians since July 8. Among those killed, at least 210 were aged 18 or younger.

Over a million people have taken to the streets in solidarity with the people of Gaza and to demand an end to the siege on Gaza.

Stephen Harper and the Canadian government have given full support to Israel’s most recent attacks, just as they did for the last war on Gaza and Israel’s war on Lebanon. Canada has also fully supported Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza, which has restricted food, medicine, and other necessities of life from entering Gaza since 2007. The renewed attacks are making an already dire situation worse.

Canada’s position is a violation of international law and numerous United Nations conventions.

With none of the main political parties clearly denouncing Israel’s aggression, there is even more urgency for the social movements to stand in solidarity with Gaza.
